As the association for Michigan’s technology professionals, ConnecTech provides life-long learning opportunities to its members and supports Michigan’s knowledge-based economy.
The mission of ConnecTech is to be Michigan’s premier organization of technology professionals, providing them with the benefits, resources and tools vital to their success.
Mission: To bring together like minded progressive individuals to showcase Greater Detroit’s technology professionals. We will highlight cutting edge technologies and recognize people who demonstrate innovation, success, and execution.
Vision: To promote the advancement of Michigan’s knowledge-based workforce by connecting individuals and communities through technology.
There are eight chapters in the ConnecTech Network, located throughout Michigan. A chapter is a nonprofit corporation that supports and promotes the growth of technology-oriented individuals in the chapter’s geographic region and throughout the State of Michigan.
Chapters satisfy the needs and priorities of local technology-oriented professionals while providing access to a large, geographically diverse network of exemplary professionals.
The ConnecTech Network oversees the success and integration of local ConnecTech chapters. The Network’s responsibilities include providing a consistent member experience by communicating with existing chapters, recruiting new chapters, disseminating information and resources throughout the network, and coordinating the Annual Meeting.
ConnecTech is sponsored by the Automation Alley, headquartered in Southeastern Michigan. The Network also receives supplemental funding by the Economic Development Corporation (MEDC). The MEDC is the state of Michigan’s one-stop resource for businesses seeking to grow in Michigan

Nice report. However, It is confusing why Michigan, through the MEDC, would find this venture worthy of public money. ConnecTech is revenue neutral for the state. It is simply AT&T trying to get a cut of an industry that would exist without their presence.

ConnecTech.org (http://www.connectech.org/) has nothing to do the the new products from AT&T.
It is a shame that they used the same name.
