“The key to failure is trying to please everyone” — ain’t that the truth! I agree wholeheartedly with that sentiment for two reasons: 1) If you’re always trying to please everyone else, then you’re continually sending yourself the message that other people are more important than you (which has got to wreak havoc on your self esteem); and 2) Constantly trying to please other people will continually pull you in dozens of different directions, which makes goal attainment almost impossible.
