Don’t Make These Three Fatal Mistakes
Today, I want to let you know about three fatal online business mistakes.
If you fall into any of these traps, you won’t be successful online. Period.
Fatal Mistake #1: I don’t need a website
Wrong!
If you want to generate consistent profits and build a sustainable business, it’s absolutely essential to have your own website.
If you don’t have your own website yet, you’re leaving money on the table that is just waiting to be picked up.
And if you don’t grab that money quickly, someone else will.
That’s why it’s vital to get your own website set up as quickly as possible.
Fatal Mistake #2: I’m Not Technical Enough To Set Up My Own Website
Not true!
Either you know how to do something or you don’t. If you don’t have the right knowledge, it’s both easy and essential to learn.
If you can’t do the basics yourself, it will prevent you from getting started or cost you a fortune paying other people to do it for you. Either way, it will seriously dent your online earning power.
Fatal Mistake #3: I Can Make Money With A Squidoo Lens
True.
But, if that’s your business model, good luck (you’ll need it)!
I earn about $30 a month from Squidoo and I use it to help send traffic to my hosted website and domain name
If you rely solely upon third-party sites like Squidoo or Blogger, remember that they have the ability to pull the rug from beneath you at any moment. What happens if they suddenly decide to cancel your account?
Your “business” would disappear instantly. Honestly. It has happened to some of my lenses several times already!
The only way to be in control of your business is to have your own site on your own hosting package and your own independently registered domain name.
So to recap:
1. You need your own website.
2. You need to learn some website building basics.
3. You need to set up your own website as quickly as possible and stop relying on other sites and blog hosts for your online future.
Course of Action:
Get your own Domain name and Hosting Hostgator:
Hostgator costs only $7.95 a month and to add a Domain Name is only $15 one time for a year.

Thanks for a great article. I do agree that eventually having your own hosted website is very important. I think it is good to start out with Squidoo or Blogger and when you have earned a little money to get your own website. It may seem a bit daunting and complicated at first but when you have done it once you will have full control and it’s a great feeling to have achieved that goal.

I agree that Squidoo and Blogger are great to start out with. But there is a great risk with relying on these third parties.

While number 1 would have been applicable 20 years ago, it certainly is not the case nowadays. Even the corner mom and pop stores are getting their own websites. You have to make sure that people find you no matter where you are. Getting a website takes care of that for you. But of course, you need to have it optimized.

A company without a website aggravates me to absolutely no end. Or if they have one and it is extremely underutilized.

I cannot imagine putting up an online business without having a website.
It’s like going to war without bring any weapon.
A website is a very powerful weapon if done and created properly.
